Faux edges and baby hair are actually something we see all the time. We craft them around the hairline of our wigs; we make them with leftover crochet hair; and now, folks are even wearing temporary tattoo versions of baby hair!
Where there’s a will there’s a way, and YouTuber Trendy Kay may have the best way of them all. She recently shared a video showing us how she created her own edges, and guess what she used? An old lacefront wig!
Yup, she cut small pieces from the hairline of an old lacefront wig so that she could glue them down to her forehead to make faux edges and baby hair. It’s the same idea as gluing down a whole wig, but instead, there’s far less work involved.
Rightfully so, quite a few people in the comments were shook for a few reasons. One being that such an innovative way to create faux edges never really crossed their minds in the first place, and two being “omg, what if my edges fall off in the street?”
Truthfully, the latter thought was exactly what I was thinking! But watching Kay slay the small pieces of lace made me feel much better because she used stronghold gels and sprays to get the job done. Admittedly, it came out far more fire than I anticipated!
