We do not see it but Olympian Simone Biles says to this day people still mistake her for Gabby Douglas.
If you recall back in 2016 (according to Philadephia 10) a Philadelphia Daily News columnist mistakenly printed a photo of Simone Biles alongside her story about Gabby Douglas.
The piece was the Daily News’ cover story, and when readers opened to the column, they found a large photo of Biles, mid-leap, smack in the center of the copy. A caption reads: ‘Gabby Douglas: Olympic gold medalist, need we say more?’
“It makes you want to bash your head against a wall,” Polaneczky told NBC10. “I’m mortified.”
Simone wrote on Twitter, “still getting called Gabby Douglas’ and Twitter weighed in with various opinions agreeing that both women look nothing alike.
still getting called gabby douglas is crazy to me

I met you in the Phoenix airport. I was star stuck and couldn’t say your name. This lady next to me goes OMG your gabby Douglas and we both looked at her crazy. Then I said NO, she’s Simone biles, my daughters hero. Can I have a pic. And you took one with me

It's just like when you're standing in line with another Black person and the teller asks how she can help 'us'?Ma'am? We are all not related, nor do we all know each other… It's exhausting….
