Whoopi Goldberg defended Kate Middleton after the royal edited a photo she took with her kids that contained many Photoshop errors.
Goldberg addressed the issue on Monday’s The View episode.
“I’m sorry, I know very few people who don’t manipulate their own photos. I mean all your gotta do is swipe. Those editors swipe, God knows people look how those photos look.”
According to Page Six, Goldberg’s cohost Sara Haines countered her by stating there’s a difference between using a filter and Photoshop.
But Goldberg wasn’t having it.
“You know what, I have to tell you, she may be the future queen, she’s still an amateur photographer. That’s what they do!”
Goldberg then added sarcastically:
“I’m sure that none of you have ever tampered with your [photos].”
Cohost Ana Navarro owned up on editing her photos.
“Listen, if manipulating pictures was a crime, the Kardashians, my best friend and I would be in jail for the rest of our lives.”
Whoopi Goldberg Staunchly Defended Kate Middleton
Whoopi Goldberg was steadfast in her defense of Middleton, especially since the royal had already apologized.
For the star, this situation hits close to home because when appearing on magazine covers, her wrinkles have been edited out and her skin tone lightened.
“People can do anything they want to do with pictures –– this should not be a shock.”
Middleton apologized on Monday after people noticed several editing mistakes.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”
