Kobe Bryant’s parents are facing criticism for putting a championship ring he gifted them up for auction.
According to Yahoo, Kobe gifted his dad, Joe, his first championship ring in 2000.
He won the ring when the Lakers beat the Indiana Pacers.
Kobe gifted his mom a replica, but now his parents have put up the original ring–made of 14-karat gold with 40 diamonds–on auction.

Kobe Bryant’s Parents Have Tried Selling Off His Prized Possessions Before

This is the second time Kobe Bryant’s parents have tried to sell off his most valuable possessions, and fans aren’t taking it well.
“Kobe would of never sold it. Wow sad.”
Before his tragic passing, Kobe and his folks tried to patch things up after several fallouts that started when he dated Vanessa.
Joe and Pamela refused to attend the couple’s 2001 wedding.
They tried to reconcile several times, but that ended in 2013.
Kobe gave up on them after they tried to sell several priceless memorabilia from his career.
He tweeted:
“When u give Give GIVE and they take Take TAKE at wat point do u draw a line in the sand?”
Kobe sued them for auctioning the items without his permission or knowledge.
His parents apologized in a statement:
“We regret our actions and statements related to the Kobe Bryant auction memorabilia. We apologize for any misunderstanding and unintended pain we have caused our son and appreciate the financial support he has provided over the years.”
This incident deepened the rift between Kobe Bryant and his parents as they refused to attend his last NBA game in April 2016.
Kobe vented his frustration to ESPN.
“Our relationship is sh*t. I say, ‘I’m going to buy you a very nice home,’ and the response is, ‘That’s not good enough?’ Then you’re selling my s**t?”
